A man has drowned in Wemmer Pan Dam after he was chased by the police for allegedly shooting and killing someone on Tuesday, April 23.
According to Captain Jeff Phora, head of communications SAPS Moffat View, two Zama Zama’s (illegal miners) shot at each other and one died on the scene, whilst the other suspect ran straight into the dam when he was chased by the police.
Search and Rescue team together with Moffat View SAPS were on the scene busy searching for the body of the suspect.
