Race to victory on a 55km mountain bike challenge.

They did the mountain bike challenge

Johannesburg – The 94.7 55km mountain bike challenge on November 10 at Waterfall Country Estate Sunninghill was a charity organisation held for ” The Smile Foundation”, which raises money to help children born with facial deformities. 7 500 people were put to the challenge in different teams in order to compete the full trail.

A couple from Brackenhurst: Monique Kerr (27) was put to the challenge and completed the trail. Her overall result was 1442/1533 in her gender specific category.

Roger Kerr (33), was also put up to the challenge and he completed the trail with an end result of 1402/1533.

“We were very happy to leave it up to the spirit,” said Monique.

The day was hot but perseverance is what made the two reach their goal and Netcare medical staff were there to assist where necessary.

“They have made changes to the course from last year and the race was absolutely brilliant. We really enjoyed the track. There were one or two tricky sections and other flowing bits, it had it all. We will definitely do the cycle challenge again – hopefully the off road as well as the 94.7 road race next year,” said Roger .

It was Monique and Roger’s first race of the 94.7 challenge and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They appreciated the experience… along with all the other riders who attended.
