Meetings for Joburg South Garden Club
If you are interested in gardening or even pottering about in your garden, why not come to one of the garden club meetings to see what it’s all about?
THE Joburg South Garden Club will meet at the Geelhout room, Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre, Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park on August 18 at 10am.
The guest speaker will be Linda Galvad from Sought after Seedlings and also a presenter of talks and demonstrations on Gardening 101 on DSTV’s 176 Home channel. She will chat about growing your own food organically and the importance of self-health through your food.
The monthly Show Table will be available at this meeting, categories: pot plants, cut flowers, indigenous, fruit and vegetables and floral art. The floral art theme will be “Winter Colour”.
The following garden club meeting will be held on August 28 at 10am at the same venue.
Guest speaker Allan Abel will chat on the “Culture of Orchids”. Have you been given an orchid as a gift for a special occasion and the plant now looks like it needs a bit of TLC? Well, there may just be the solution for you. Allan will also demonstrate how to re-pot a Phalaenopsis and a cymbidium.
