Betting is Sikhulile’s daily job

Football results are his salary.

SINCE he lost his job, Lady Luck has favoured him and betting brings winning ways for him.

Sikhulile Nkomo from Rosettenville lost his job in 2014 and ever since he has relied on betting on football games to survive.

He told the COURIER that he doesn’t regret losing his job as his new ‘job’ pays the bills and sees him through. He bets on football games with as little as R5 and in return, depending on the odds against his bet, he sometimes pockets R500.

Sikhulile wanted to become an engineer but with things turning out well for him with his new beloved ‘job’ he prefers to stay betting.

“Even my friends are into betting and that makes me proud because sometimes we team up to win bigger,” he said.

“It is not easy as it seems but because I know how football is played, it comes easy for me to predict which team will win or not. I am doing this because I lost my job and I love football. At the same time and I know how teams across the continent play. With the money that I receive from betting I buy clothes, groceries and pay bills. No one has ever doubted my ability in football betting,” said Sikhulile.

Some football people come to him for advice on how to bet and which teams should they bet on. He said that he has cone to the conclusion that he should charge them for his advice because of his advice they make thousands.

He told the COURIER he found pride in what he does because he did not wait for opportunities to come to him – he made something out of nothing.
