BOOYSENS SAPS made a total of 236 arrests from May 1 to May 31.
The following arrests were listed:
Abandonment of child (1), armed robbery (2), assault common (26), assault grievous bodily harm (21), assault under domestic violence (3), attempted armed robbery (1), attempted murder and rape (3), attempted theft (1), child abuse (1), common robbery (7), contempt of court (2), contradiction of protection order (1), contravention of second-hand goods act (3), crimen injuria (2), dealing in liquor without licence (3), drinking in public (18), drug-related crime (52), drunken driving (13), failure to register business (1), fraud (3), house break-in and theft (7), hijacking and attempted murder (1), hit and run (1), intimidation (1), malicious injury to property (10) and murder (1).
The police went on to arrest people on possession of house break-in implements (1), live rounds of ammunition (2), stolen motor vehicles (1), suspected stolen property (4) and unlicensed firearm (3). Also, pitch invasion (2), rape (4), reckless and negligent driving (2), robbery with fireman (1), shoplifting (15), theft (11), theft out of motor vehicle (1), trespassing (1), unlawful possession of firearm (2) and the use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent (1).
