Pensioner gets new unit after fire at Moffat View Old Age Home

I can confirm that she has fully recovered from her injuries. She is just slightly nervous when she thinks about what happened to her - Cle Faeeza Chame.

AFTER fire destroyed the unit of a pensioner, Jean-Ann Sloane, on May 6, she received a new unit at Moffat View Old Age Home.

Jean-Ann was hospitalised at South Rand Hospital where she was treated for smoke inhalation and burn bruises.

“I am pleased that Jea-Ann Sloane received the keys to her new home at the Moffat View Old age Home. After her unit was burnt on May 6, she was hospitalised. She had burn marks in her face and she became partially blind,” said Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame who helped her to get the new unit.

“I can confirm that she has fully recovered from her injuries. She is just slightly nervous when she thinks about what happened to her. We had to go to the housing allocations department for two weeks to make sure that she will be allocated a home. The housing officials tried their best to accommodate her. I wish her good luck in her new home,” said Chame.
