THE ALBERTON Day music festival is on our doorstep again and the lineups look amazing.

The festival will take place from May 4 to 6 at the Alberton Rugby Club and this year the organisers promise better entertainment with great artists who will make this an even greater and better festival than ever before. Why go out of town, when you can have it all in one weekend.

This year the festival will maintain its high standards with a line up to entertain young and old in the heart of Alberton.

GROUNDS: The festival will be held at the Alberton Rugby Club.

What to expect

• May 4 is for the young at heart with an energy packed day the headline artists are Fokofpolisiekar and Chunda Munki. Other Friday artists are DJ Conflict, Blewbox, DJ Jorge, DB Sounds, DJ Jakes, Fabez and Remedy, Rekoil, DJ Blade, Deep Archer, R Trex, DJ Road Signs, A7rium, Ami-Lectrix, Something October Band, Jose Rocha, Kinky Robot, Vin Groovin, Defy Theory Band and Jomo Beats.

• May 5 the festival will continue with a fun-filled day. The MC, Tommy Gloss, will be presenting an action-packed stage on Saturday and Sunday with some of South Africa’s best artists. The headline artists are Theuns Jordaan, Xanilee Hammond, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Nádine, Juan Boucher, Ghapi, Hans Drommedaris, Gerald and Gigdes Band, Reckoning, Rea le Roux and Boeboe, Martin Bester from Jacaranda FM, Die Boereorkes Band, Jomo Beats and a Tribute to the Shadows. The SAPS will have an educational Dog Show, teaching people how dogs can save lives and assist the fight against crime and be man’s best friend. The theme park will have rides for everyone with the Zapper to steal your breath away. The children will have entertainment with face painting and pony rides and a care centre.

• May 6 will be another highlight day with the festivities continuing with Manie Jackson, Kurt Darren, the Band Virtue, Jomo Beats, a Tribute to Neil Diamond, Jason Bradley and Snotkop, who will end the festival on a high note.

Important to note

Please take note that there will be no gate pass-outs, no alcohol and no cooler boxes allowed. The venue has a beer garden and food stalls to cover your drinking and eating needs. The venue has seating on die field and a stadium but you are welcome to bring your own camping chairs. The festival has free parking and secure parking, which is available at R50 per vehicle. The event is paraplegic friendly, for special arrangements you can call Stefan directly.
