SAJKA Gauteng colours for JKA South Bassonia members

The competition was fierce with over 1 800 entries in the tournament and the team brought home a total of 27 medals.

TWENTY-eight members of the JKA South Bassonia Karate Club were selected to represent Karate Syndicate at the SAJKA Gauteng regional championship held at the end of March.

The competition was fierce with over 1 800 entries in the tournament and the team brought home a total of 27 medals. All medal winners are automatically selected for the SAJKA Gauteng team that will represent Gauteng at the SAJKA National Champs at the end of May and an additional 13 selections were also made over and above this for inclusion in the Gauteng team.

The students train under the watchful eye of their instructors Sensei Bruce Smith (seventh dan), Gert Aucamp (sixth dan) and Karyn Smith (fifth dan).
