Matrics rewarded at Raise the Bar Achievement Awards

The church hosted their seventh annual Raise the Bar award ceremony to celebrate matrics.

CRYSTAL Bible Church hosted their seventh annual Raise the Bar award ceremony in celebrating the matric class of 2017 for their hard work in powering through an important milestone.

The 2018 Raise the Bar Achievement Awards celebrated schools in the south and south-west of Johannesburg.

Different high schools, their principals and the Gauteng Department of Education dignitaries, including the top performing students of each school, came to the church to receive recognition.

Crystal Bible Church’s pastor Rodin Bora said the church had a 2021 vision which was to serve communities and establish meaningful relationships.

“We know that education is the foundational solution to all the above and through this awards ceremony we endeavor to encourage and motivate our learners and acknowledge our teachers and principals as they continue to strive to ‘raise the bar’ for education and academic excellence,” he said.

The church’s founder and pastor, Carl Hendricks, agrees.

He encouraged all matrics to “go for life” and reach for their dreams.

He said everyone needed to “speak life” into their own lives with positive thinking.

“Focus on the commitment and not the incentive and remember to let go of festering friends who want to distract you from your goal.”

The charismatic pastor Hendricks provided a plethora of advice to the eager former matrics.

More speakers came to the podium all in favor of celebrating the eager matric achievers.

Speaker Darren August and the circuit team manager of the Gauteng Department of Education, Fabian Kelly, lorded the teachers and principals for the relentless efforts in waking up every day to educate learners.
