According to the driver of the meter taxi in which the woman was a passenger, he transported the pregnant woman and a man from the MTN taxi rank just after 6am. When they reached Data Crescent in Ormonde another man (believed to be a security guard with a firearm) entered the vehicle and sat in the back seat next to the woman, shot the woman in the stomach and attempted to flee the scene. According to the driver, the man fired five shots.
He was caught and arrested by Booysens SAPS and the woman was transported to hospital. A reporter was on scene and a statement will follow from the Booysens SAPS, it is still not confirmed how many times exactly the woman was shot.
