New library opens in Naturena

This was the ninth library that the Department has opened since the beginning of 2017.

GRATEFUL residents witnessed Gauteng MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation – Faith Mazibuko opening the new library in Naturena on November 3.

This state of the art facility will offer an Internet service that will include free Wi-Fi. “The much needed facilities will bring immaculate service to many including our learners, students as well as ordinary job seekers from all walks of life,” said the MEC.

She said the programme to build libraries is more about promoting, and inculcating the culture of learning, and supporting local schools.

This was the ninth library that the Department has opened since the beginning of 2017, and more said to be opened before the end of financial year.

ANC Ward 119 Clr Oupa Ngwenya reiterated on the MEC statements that there shall be equal opportunities for all communities living in and around Naturena.

In closing he said, “We appreciate this facility that was initiated by our late PR Clr Cde Nhlanhla Stompie Mthembu. Her spirit lives amongst us and we thank her for her braveness in community building.”

After short and inspiring speeches that’s includes DA MMC for Economic Development Nonhlanhla Sfumbo, delicious food and soft drinks were served to the entire guests and local residents.
