THE senseless killing of a five-year-old who was struck down in a hit-and-run on Outspan Road on October 27 has left South Hills residents furious.
According to Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame, who extended her condolences to the family, the incident happened around 6pm.
Chame said although police received information on who the driver was, the information has turned out to be insufficient.
She said the family of the five-year-old was traumatised and that his incident has sprouted an even more intense demand for speed humps.
“I also want to urge the community, if they have any information that can lead to the arrest of the driver who took the little girl’s life and sped off without any remorse, to please report the perpetrator to the Moffat View SAPS on 011 405 1500,” she said.
