Danger lurking in Moffat View

Repairs will be done to the tower and the problem is expected to be resolved in the next four weeks - City Power.

THE powerline pylon in the Moffat View area, between True North and Southern Klipriviersberg roads, poses danger as some of the foundation is being eroded by the spruit beneath.

Henry Storbeck from Elladdone alerted the COURIER about the possible danger surrounding the powerline pylon. “Imagine if these collapses. The mayhem it will cause will be massive and the entire hood will be powerless for days. I have reported this several times to City Power. In my last correspondence (ref: CP2136710) with them through SMS, they said the matter was attended to.

On October 26, Sol Masolo, spokesperson for City Power, said the entity is aware of the danger the power pylon poses. “As a company, we have sent our technicians to do a site assessment of the pylon. Repairs will be done to the tower and the problem is expected to be resolved in the next four weeks.”
