Accident injures 15
The cause of the incident remains unknown, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
ACCORDING to ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw, 15 people were injured in a collision involving a taxi and a light motor vehicle, on Friday, May 17.
The collision occurred on Raikes Road, in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, where the two vehicles collided head-on with one another.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the driver of the taxi was entrapped in the vehicle. He was extricated with the help of fire and rescue services, but it was found that he had sustained critical injuries.
ER24 treated and transported the taxi driver to the Johannesburg General Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the light motor vehicle sustained moderate injuries, and there were 13 passengers in the taxi, all with minor injuries. All the patients were treated and transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
