MOFFATVIEW SAPS is warning residents of the South about criminals who use car signal jamming devices to steal vehicles after motorists walk away thinking their vehicles are locked but are not.
These jammers interfere with the vehicle’s remote and prevent the car from locking.
On Wednesday, June 15, Moffatview SAPS officers distributed pamphlets in Main Street, Rosettenville to alert the public about this kind of vehicle theft.
“We advise the public that when pressing the remote to lock your vehicle, to also physically check if it is indeed locked. Residents must also make sure that the vehicles and windows are locked,” said Moffatview SAPS communications officer, Constable Bila.
