Neighbours commended the police for their response and for apprehending the suspect.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – AN elderly woman in her 70s was murdered in her Roseacres home on Friday, June 10, just after 12:00.

The police arrested one suspect who was allegedly caught hiding in the closet.

According to sources who asked not to be named, the woman has been living by herself for a couple of years since her husband’s death. They said she was one of the oldest residents in Roseacres.

Preliminary reports state neighbours heard her scream and they pushed the panic button while another phoned the victim’s phone to see if she was all right.

Neighbours commended the police for their response and for apprehending the suspect.
