One pint can save three lives
Every time you sit down to donate, you save three lives.
SOUTH African National Blood Service (SANBS) had a special activation on Saturday, March 19, at the Southgate Shopping Centre.
In a bid to educate the public about the importance of donating blood, SANBS used DDB South Africa, a full service integrated advertising and communications agency. They came up with a concept: Every time you sit down to donate you save three lives.
“With this concept, we want to raise awareness that a pint of blood donated can actually save three lives. We came here at Southgate Shopping Centre to target certain groups. We use the chair to symbolize that every time you sit down and donate blood, lives are saved.
“There will also be a video on Youtube to encourage people to donate and we hope this campaign will gain momentum and more people will donate,” explained DDB South Africa senior copywriter, Baleka Mokodioa.
Art director Assaf Levy said they designed the blood bag as humans to signify the lives saved by donating blood.
