Union display sevens skills

UNION Bulldogs Rugby Club held their own during the recent Golden Lions Club Sevens Tournament that was held at the Pirates sports grounds in Greenside.

The annual event was a huge success and well organised. The heat experienced was only surpassed by the quality of rugby on display during the annual two day event. The heat wave ensured that those selling refreshments were kept busy and a good weekend was had by all.

Union played well and showed character even in defeat. They had a good team spirit and defended superbly when they had to. The players showed some good skills when going forward. They were also not afraid of contact and in some cases went over the advantage line while advancing to their opponent’s try line.

The seniors won two matches and lost two which was a credible performance as they were in a tough group.
