SRC needs old books and magazines

“These Youth Centres are hosts to children who do not have any other place to stay and they do wonderful work.”

THE 2016 school representative council (SRC) of Randeor School in Mondeor is on a quest to donate two libraries in the New Year as part of their community project.

“We have identified two youth centres, My Huis and Joshua House, in the South. These youth centres are hosts to children who do not have any other place to stay and these centres do wonderful work in the upbringing of responsible youth for the future,” said Randeor’s media liaison officer, Anandi Spies.

Randeor School wants to donate enough books and two Wendy Houses to these centres. The representative council is urging the community of the South to donate old books to contribute to making this exciting initiative a success where children can go into their own library in the comfort of their own home.

“The learners in these youth centres are between the ages of five and 18. Afrikaans and English books are welcome also magazines. Puzzles are also more than welcome and any board games. We are asking the community to kindly donate two Wendy Houses – one for each youth centre to serve as a library,” explained Spies.

The books, puzzles, board games and magazines can be delivered to the Sasol Garage on the corner of Swartgoud Street and Columbine Avenue in Suideroord or deliveries can be made to Randeor School on the corner of Kouga and Hantam Roads.

Sponsors for the two Wendy Houses can phone Spies on 082 450 7314 or the school on 011 680 1446.
