Local DA councillor receives award
Several ward councillors were surprised with certificates to honour the good community work they do in their respective wards.
LOCAL women in government attended a breakfast in Emmarentia with the Johannesburg Madam Speaker, Connie Bapela, on Monday, August 31.
Several ward councillors were surprised with certificates to honour the good community work they do in their respective wards. The attendees discussed women issues and the important role women play in communities.
“A councillor’s work is never done. We all work equally hard and we all have the interests of the community at heart. But I have to say, I was surprised by the award. I did not know that I would receive it. It showed me that people are aware of the good work we do in communities,” said DA ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame.
