JMPD officer shot dead in Rosettenville

Police officer loses his life in shooting in Rosettenville.

ROSETTENVILLE – A Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officer has been shot dead in Rosettenville Junction, corner Geranium and Main Street, Rosettenville on Monday afternoon, July 27.

According to JMPD Media Spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, “The officer was in full uniform and came upon suspects trying to rob security guards at a Pick n Pay.”

Minnaar said the officer was shot when he with the one suspect. The other suspect shot him, when he fell he was shot again twice in the upper torso and died on the scene.

Three suspects were involved and the police officer was allegedly shot in his upper body and died on the scene. His body is still inside the shopping centre.
