Amatuks ready for the new season

AmaTuks unveiled their 2015/2016 playing jersey and new player signings.

AMATUKS, the University of Pretoria Football Club, unveiled their 2015/2016 playing jersey and new signings at the official launch of the season.

AmaTuks will be using three playing jerseys depending on whether it is a home or away game.

“We used lighter and more flexible material with will allow the players to look smarter and also play smarter. There are aspects of the shirt that can never be improved on, such as the stripe.We went a step further and used the stripe on more areas of the shirt which worked out quite well. Players and supporters alike can truly wear their stripes with pride,” said Tristan Karakashian, brand manager for Umbro SA.

Coaches Sammy Throughton and Selaotse Mosala roped in seven new players to the AmaTuks camp and they are

Harry Edge – Central midfielder from PEC Zwolle in Holland

Kabelo Lichaba – Left back from Polokwane City

Vukile Mngqibisa – Center back from Polokwane City

Thabiso Nkoana – Center forward formerly with SuperSport United

Sibusiso Mthethwa – Central midfielder from Free State Stars

Willem Mwendihanga – Center back formerly with AmaZulu

Sphamandla Dlamini – the 2015 SAB u.21 National Championship player of the tournament

Apart from these new signings, the club bid farewell to Geoffrey Massa, Siyabonga Ngubane and Mpho Matsi who have gone on to join other clubs.

AmaTuks’ student team will start defending their Varsity Soccer title against TUT Pretoria on Thursday, July 23 while the professional outfit will commence with the PSL on Saturday, August 8.
