La Rochelle suspect gets eight-year prison sentence

Notorious man to finally serve time.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The Moffatview SAPS communications officer, Constable Bila, said a man arrested in La Rochelle was successfully convicted.

The man, who was arrested by Warrant Officer Nkabinde, was carrying an unlicensed firearm, with ammunition, and dagga. He was also driving an unlicensed vehicle along Johannesburg Street in La Rochelle.

“The suspect was found guilty of contravening the Prohibited Firearms Act no 60 of 2000. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment and two years imprisonment sentences, with the sentences set to run concurrently. Well done to our dedicated members,” said Const Bila.
