UPDATE: Denver Station: Trains collided

It has now been confirmed that one person tragically lost their life during the train accident.

The entrapped occupant has now been removed from the wreckage and have been airlifted to hospital for the urgent medical treatment required.

Netcare 911 Santi Steinmann said most of the injured patients have been treated at the scene and transported to various hospitals by Netcare 911, Provincial services and other services.

Members of the Search and Rescue teams have now entered the train wreckage to search for any possible commuters that might still be trapped in the train wreckage.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash is still unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
