Winchester Hills blessed with new spiritual centre

Hindu Community of Winchester Hills and other surrounding suburbs have been blessed with a new Sri Swami Sivananda Satsanga Bhavan.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – THE Hindu Community of Winchester Hills and other surrounding suburbs in the South of Johannesburg have been blessed with a new Sri Swami Sivananda Satsanga Bhavan, intended for those that would like to practise universal Hinduism through the teachings of one of India’s towering spiritual luminaries, Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj, Founder and First President of the Divine Life Society of Rishikesh, Himalayas, India.

The centre, known as the Sri Adi Shankara Ashrama and is situated in Frangipani Street, Extension 3, Winchester Hills. It focusses primarily on vibrant Satsangas, group chantings, meditation, study of the Holy Scriptures, lectures on philosophy and a few outreach projects to uplift those that languish in poverty.

The Ashrama’s weekly public Satsangas are held each Sunday from 09:00 to 11:00 while its Bhagavad Gita classes are conducted on Wednesday evenings from 19:00 to 20:00. On Monday evenings, a special prayer service is held from 19:30 to 20.30 to invoke the blessings of the Divine through the chanting of Maha Mritunjaya Mantra, especially for those that are seriously ill and afflicted with various kinds of diseases.

Those that are serious about spiritual life are most cordially invited to attend without any obligation whatsoever.

The various discourses and Satsanga programmes are totally free of charge and the Hindu community and other interested individuals are urged to take maximum advantage of this wonderful opportunity to raise their spiritual consciousness.
