Umcijo Performing Arts targets youth

The mission of this initiative is to inspire young people to show their talent in art and bring society together.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Young people are invited to join the talented movement, Umcijo Performing Arts, that seeks to keep young people off the streets and away from negative activity.

Umcijo Performing Arts is a non profit organisation for children and youths, established in 2009 and registered in 2014. The organisation has travelled several places, in and outside the city, showcasing their wonderful talent. Umcijo’s aims are to educate and entertain young people and to have a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Any young person between the ages of nine and 35 is more than welcome to join by submitting the required documents, a copy of certified birth certificate or ID and two passport photos.

Services offered are drama, dance, poetry, acting training, singing, music, life skills and more. Workshops take place on Wednesdays between 15:00 and 17:30 and on Saturdays between 10:00 and 13:00 at Nobel Memorial Hall, on the corner of Tramway and Von Brandis streets, Turffontein.
