Peermont Education Trust assists exceptional students

The students will receive R120 000 worth of annual bursaries to follow their dreams.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Peermond Education Trust is once again contributing to the education of a child from a disadvantaged background by offering 13 bursaries worth a R120 000 to 13 students who excelled in matric.

The trust has a number of students who are now successful professionals such as accountants, lawyers and engineers who come to inspire the newcomers on Tuesday January 28 at Emperors Palace.

The students come from different townships such as Thokoza, Katlehong, Duduza, Daveyton, Tembisa and other areas. They are all very proud to receive this support, which Peermont has been giving to many students for years now.

In addition to having their tuition and accommodation costs paid, these fortunate students will also receive a laptop and stipend to sustain them through their academic year. “Today it is not possible to excel at university without having the necessary technical and academic assistance,” said Trust Manager Jenny Findlay.

According to her these students come from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds and they cannot even afford the taxi fare to go and register at an institution of their choice.

The trust will also provide additional support in the form of mentorship, which will ensure that the students cope well academically and emotionally.
