New AACL animal facilities

More loving and caring homes for animals launched.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The loving and caring Johannesburg Animal Anti-Cruelty League launched two new animal facilities on Friday December 12 at the Johannesburg branch.

Freedom Village is one of the two facilities and was conceptualised in 2013, thanks to generous sponsorship, which helped make it a reality, with building being completed mid 2014.

This facility houses up to 32 cats at any given time, thus relieving the pressure on the original cattery, especially during peak intake hours.

Cats in the village are all over a year old and immediately available for adoption, as they have undergone a period of quarantine and have been subjected to strict veterinary protocols.

Another facility is the Old Age Village for dogs and cats, which was originally constructed in 2006, and was the first of its kind at the time.

Major refurbishments were made possible, courtesy of sponsorships, hence the loving and caring home can now provide appropriate care and dietary requirements for the friendly animals, generally over seven years old.

AACL appreciates all its long-standing sponsorship such as Canon South Africa, a long-standing sponsor of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.

“Canon has been a proud sponsor of the AACL since 2008, and we are once again delighted to assist with a meaningful contribution to help the new Freedom Village streamline their administration efforts though the donation of multifunctional printers,” said Canon SA’s Corporate and Marketing communications Executive, Dana Eitzen.
