Alleged flat owner throws family out

Illegal eviction: Man claiming to be a flat owner hires so-called security guards to destroy property beyond recognition

ROSETTENVILLE – A mother has been left to figure out where she, her five-month-old baby and other young children will sleep tonight following what they call an illegal eviction.

“Those people left the flat ruined and in a state that no person can live in. There is no power, no water and the children are supposed to start school tomorrow,” said the woman, who was evicted with her children.

The family was allegedly illegally evicted by an unknown man only known as Lehlohonolo, who claimed ownership of a flat in Rosettenville.

According to a report by the mother, the supposed owner of the flat owns two security companies. The men who work for Lehlohonolo are said to have caused major damage to the flat during the eviction.

“The baby is five months old and was affected in the eyes and lungs according to a medical report,” added the frustrated mother.

The evicted woman reported that the “security officers” were men picked up from various street corners in La Rochelle and hired to wreak havoc while evicting the family. They are said to have broken all things in their way and caused damage to private property.

More information will follow about what lead to the so-called eviction, what transpired during the eviction and the reasons behind the event.
