Aunty Rumba and Friends

The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City is set to sizzle on Saturday November 8, with Aunty Rumba and Friends, a crackling comedy show, featuring Durban’s funniest comedians – Jailoshini Naidoo, Mervyn Pillay, Neville Pillay and everyone’s favourite, Aunty Rumba. The lovable and ever entertaining Aunty Rumba, who’s been a huge hit as a presenter on Eastern Mosaic, will make her debut appearance on stage in Johannesburg, in this crazy comedy show that is guaranteed to make you laugh till you cry.

Tebello Sukwene’s debut album

Tebello Sukwene will launch her debut gospel album at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre on November 9.
The album, released on October 3, is topping the iTunes charts and is currently at number two of the gospel charts and number 18 on the main charts.

Tebello Sukwene has worked as a soprano backing vocalist for many esteemed musicians across various music genres in South Africa over the past ten years such as Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Sizwe Zakho, Simphiwe Dana, Rebecca Malope, Lira, Benjamin Dube and the prolific gospel outfit; Joyous Celebration.

Prime Circle

Multi award-winning rock group Prime Circle is set to rock and roll the Gold Reef City Lyric Theatre on November 14.
After 13 years of making waves as one of South Africa’s most successful rock acts, the five-piece group is back with Let the Night In, a new studio album infused with fresh creative energy and a new edge to the distinctive Prime Circle sound.
Be sure not to miss this night of music as it promises to pull out all of the entertainment stops. Tailor, a South African musician who recently launched her latest album Light, is also set to open the Prime Circle show.

Joey Rasdien back by popular demand

The acclaimed South African comedian Joey Rasdien is back for one night on November 15 at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City.
His latest show, The Hereafter explores where we as human beings, the world and the universe come from and considers where we might end up.
Rasdien takes his audience on a journey and considers everything from dating, voting, drinking and driving, war and even judgement day.

The Soil Reflections Tour Returns

Returning from a successful long-month tour of the United States and the United Kingdom, which started on October 8 and finishes on November 7, The Soil is back to treat their loyal fans their latest album, Nostalgic Moments at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre on November 27 and 28. Defined as Kasi Soul, The Soil’s music features an eclectic mix of musical genres such as jazz, hip hop, Afro-pop and Afro-soul.

The Acapela group’s new album, Nostalgic Moments, draws its influence and strength from the sounds and music of the Sophiatown era, which was a centre of urban African music and culture. In just under three years since the release of their debut album, The Soil has already won the hearts and minds of the musical world. The group has received recognition, awards and critical acclaim from fans stretching across Europe, North America, South Africa and as far afield as Asia.

The Peru and Bala Farewell Tour

Fans of the legendary Peru and Bala Show will get to say their final farewells to these comedians at two shows taking place in November at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre.

After 17 years of performances as the Uncles Peru and Bala, Vikash Mathura and Ray Maharaj surprised the entertainment industry with the announcement of their retirement from Lotus FM by December. Vikash Mathura has dominated radio broadcasting and the entertainment industry with a career that spans 22 years. The retirement will also bring to an end a 17-year radio career for Ray Maharaj, who has become a broadcasting favourite. Their Weekend Lift-Off radio show, broadcast on Lotus FM every Saturday morning, has enjoyed the station’s highest listenership since 1998, with an audience from more than 40 countries across five continents.
