Victim support Unit visits St Mary’s Children’s Home

Brackendowns Victim Support Unit recently visited St Mary's Children's Home in honour of Denise Palmer.

ALBERTON – With the cold weather already here, the members from Brackendowns Victim Support Unit have been collecting clothing and household utensils for St Mary’s Children’s Home.

Last year Denise Palmer from the unit passed away. It was her great wish to support St Mary’s Orphanage because she helped this organisation.

So in honour of her memory, the unit chose this organisation to donate goods to. They also spent time with the children and they give support to the staff members of St Mary’s.

The children of St Mary’s Orphanage were highly excited when the unit arrived. One little boy walked behind the people carrying packets of clothing and household utensils, and loudly sang songs to them. He felt this was the best way to show his appreciation of the gifts.

“It is so heart-warming being part of this organisation,” members of the Victim Support Unit said. The children prepared a recital of songs and speeches and gave a heart-rendering presentation to the Brackendowns Victim Support Unit.

The Brackendowns Victim Support Unit would sincerely like to thank all the members of the public for assisting them with donations.

Captain Bohler would like to make a special thank you to a family living in Glenvista that donated so kindly to this organisation.

For trauma counselling in the area you are welcome to phone Captain Bohler on 082 967 7986.
