Lerato Educational Centre branches out

“To think in a few years’ time we will have beautiful trees offering shade to children at Lerato Educational Centre,” said Rene Parker, who is involved with the school.

EIKENHOF – Nashua Childrens Donation recently gave 50 trees to Lerato Educational Centre in Eikenhof and with assistance from Waterstone Debutante Queen, Jo and some of the Waterstone College boys, as well as residents from the South, Charities for Change, who donated R70 for each tree for the compost, phosphate, digging of the holes and much more, and Keen Gro Nursery who donated 25 bags of compost, it was an amazing day.

Sister Mary and Sister Helen were at the tree planting ceremony, as well as some of the girls from St Andrew’s school and Johannesburg Junior Council. A local farmer donated a 45 kilogram pumpkin which brought huge smiles from the children.

“We are always looking for donations to help the children at Lerato Education Centre and I can be reached by e-mail: reneparker4@gmail.com,” added Rene.
