WATCH: Hefty fine for dumpers

Klipriviersberg Road, between Moffat View and Rewlatch, has been taken over by illegal dumpers.

Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame said it was brought to her attention that it is mainly building contractors or rubble removers that are the perpetrators of this crime.

“Pikitup do come out regularly to clean up and they went as far as to close the road off with huge boulders, but it was removed. Within two weeks, with the assistance of JMPD, I caught huge trucks dumping rubble. They were issued hefty fines.

“I would like to remind residents that it is an offence to dump illegally. If you see dumping please report them to the illegal dumping number 082 779 1361,” she said.
