Mayfield and Kibler Park residents fuming after load shedding
Mayfield Park, Kibler Park, Alveda and Southfork were without electricity on Thursday March 6, for nearly six hours, a longer time than the allocated load shedding.
SOUTH OF JOHANNESBURG – According to Ward 125 Councillor, Peter Stewart, he received lots of phone calls from angry residents.
“Residents are so frustrated with the continuous outages in these areas. Even when there’s no load shedding they have continuous power failure problems. Apparently yesterday’s longer power outage was caused by a lack of power at Eikenhof sub-station.
“I was informed the workers at the sub-station were supposed to switch the power back on at 18:00 but Eskom hadn’t given them the supply to do so. It’s a ridiculous state of affairs,” said Clr Stewart.
The power eventually came back on at about 20:15.
