The case against businessman Deon Pillay has been provincially postponed to March 8 due to the change of the prosecutor at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on January 27.
He is accused of theft, fraud, and contravening of the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act.
Pillay was granted R50 000 bail on 25 August 2020.
According to Lucky Sindane, spokesperson of the City’s Group Forensic and Investigation Services, in 2014 the City of Johannesburg procured 570 desktops from Pillay’s company and he failed to deliver them, although he was paid R8.5-million.
