Woman stays alive after claiming to be HIV positive

An Indian woman lured Kineue Tsita (22) from Turffontein to be ‘drugged’, assaulted and possibly raped, while all she (Kineue) wanted was to work.

TURFFONTEIN – Kineue was taken to an unknown place after drinking ‘juice’ from the woman’s home in Robertham.

Her ordeal started on Thursday January 23. She went to St Paul United Church, Mulbarton to register for domestic work.

She thought her struggle of not working was over when an Indian woman showed interest in her. “She interviewed me on the day and I told her everything about myself. She said she would contact me,” said Kineue.

On that Thursday evening the woman called Kineue and told her they could meet the following day morning at Southdale Shopping Centre. For Kineue it was a dream come true as she was about to start working. “I arrived at Southdale Shopping Centre and she took me into her house in Robertsham. On arrival she continued to interview me about the job. This woman took my phone and deleted her numbers from it, she didn’t give me food the whole day. I asked for something to drink at about 22:00. I remember feeling dizzy after I drank it,” explained Kineue.

She woke up on Saturday January 25 in a house where there were three Indian men, two young males and an older one.

“They asked whether I was HIV positive, I said yes. I could see they were very cross that I’m HIV positive. I was promised to get tested on Monday January 27.

“While there, these men assaulted me with sharp objects, scratching me on my arms and legs. They said they would kill me because I’m HIV positive. I was scared, not knowing what to do. Then on Sunday January 26, they drove with me and I was dropped under the bridge in Fordsburg,” remembered Kineue.

She doesn’t know what happened to her on the day she was drugged. A medical report will reveal whether she was raped or not. A case at Booysens Police Station was opened and Booysens Police Warrant Officer Lorraine van Emmerik confirmed that a case was under investigation.

“The complainant’s daughter went to Southdale Shopping Centre to meet with an unknown Indian female for possible employment. When the mother tried to contact her she was unable to do so. She later received a ‘whatsapp’ message in which the daughter mentioned that she was unable to get out of the house and she was not sure where she was.

The mother came to the police station where all the relevant role players were called out and various searches commenced. The complainant’s daughter was later found,” said W/O Van Emmerik.
