WATCH: Councillor Chame says her last goodbyes to deceased husband

Clr Faeeza Chame believes Ralph left a void in her heart which no one will ever fill.

Councillor Faeeza Chame couldn’t hold back the tears as she reflected on the pain of the recent death of her husband.

The Ward 57 councillor said her husband, Ralph Chame, was her pillar of strength and a shoulder to cry on.

She told the COURIER being a councillor comes with great responsibilities and heart.

“Ralph knew how to comfort and give me advice when the community was against me.

“He was always there in every challenge I encountered and always there to share the pain. I never thought it would come to this day,” said Faeeza.

Faeeza believes Ralph left a void in her heart which no one will ever fill.

The couple got married in 1995 and their love grew from then.

“I have spent my life with him. To continue without him next to me is painful. We had plans to work on and adventures to achieve, now I’m left alone,” she said.

Ralph left behind his wife, seven children and seven grandchildren.

In memory of Ralph, Faeeza will continue the food parcels project which Ralph started.

Ralph’s memorial service was held on January 25.
