THE battle lines are drawn between local southern side Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns to have a face-off for the much coveted Shell Helix Ultra Cup.

These two giants of the soccer fields will meet each other for the second edition of the Shell Helix Ultra Cup and will go toe-to-toe to determine who will be victorious.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will take on each other on October 12 at the FNB Stadium. The kick-off will be at 4pm.

The tournament rights holder, SMSA Tournament Pty (Ltd), and title sponsor Shell Downstream South Africa (Pty) Ltd, are pleased to announce that Mamelodi Sundowns will travel to Kaizer Chiefs’ headquarters to defend their title in front of the local side.

The Shell Helix Ultra Cup is a showcase of one of the best rivalries that South African football has to offer and the never-ending battle between Amakhosi and Masandawana will set alight the FNB Stadium.

The inaugural event in 2018 saw Sundowns claim bragging rights by lifting the cup. This year Kaizer Chiefs will hope to claim the cup at their home stadium, while Sundowns will aim to successfully defend their crown.

The Shell Helix Ultra Cup celebrates that these two teams and their fans bring ultra-footballing performance to the field, to the stands and to everyday conversations every time they get together.

With this in mind, the event promises to continue to fuel anticipation among fans through exciting campaigns to deliver a world-class event.
