[GALLERY + VIDEOS]: Huge fire in Rand Water Eikenhof station affects electricity

City Power technicians have been dispatched to the site.

ACCORDING to a local councillor, there is a huge fire at Rand Water Eikenhof Pumping station. Power outages reported to Naturena, Kibler Park, Alveda, Rand Water, Eikenhof and Logharin.

“In all likelihood the water supply to our reservoirs may be affected. Please reduce water supply immediately but at the same time try and store some water in case water supply is interrupted,” advises Ward 54 councillor, Sergio dos Santos.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said that the Johannesburg Prison was also affected by the outages.

Mangena said City Power will continue to provide updates as and when new information becomes available, and apologized for the inconvenience caused to the affected customers.
