The SA Derby bound to impress equine lovers

2018 SA Derby is bound to impress this year.

THE 2018 SA Derby is bound to impress this year and with Grandstands A and B tickets officially sold out this could only be one of the best events staged in years.

Commencing on September 26, Kyalami Park Club will be the place to be in order to watch the best of South Africa’s greatest equestrians.

Kyalami Park club chairman Jan Kleynhans says he’s delighted with the equestrian community’s responsiveness to purchase their tickets early.

“There are limited seats available in grandstands C, D, E and F for the Sunday spectacle known as The SA Derby. There are still some Champagne Village tickets available. However, we anticipate these to sell like hotcakes with only five weeks to go before the show starts. I am particularly looking forward to Saturday’s show schedule, which we’ve hyped up significantly, offering much more value for the spectator than we’ve ever seen in this show’s 52-year history,” said Kleynhans.

“It is not a surprise that an event of this calibre is selling out fast. With the best of SA riders participating, we know it will be an event to remember, and we are extremely proud to be a part of it,” said chief executive, Surie Ramasary.

September 29 will see the first ever 1.35m Speed Derby Championships, presented by NAMEDSPORT, and will serve as a thrilling warm up to Sunday’s sizzling show jumping.

Over and above this will be the 1.40m Mini Derby third qualifying round as well as entertainment galore

Included in the R70 general access ticket, will be access to the retail and food village, the kids’ entertainment area, multiple bars, grandstand seating on a first come, first served basis (note that this is for the Saturday only), and access to the official Saturday after party.

Guests can enjoy delicious food options available at the Food Village. There will also be a variety of lawn games available including lawn bowls and giant jenga.
