Maemu to defend his WBA Pan African belt

An exciting six-bout bill will feature on FOX Sports Africa tournament.

AN exciting six-bout bill will feature on FOX Sports Africa venture in South Africa.

The event will take place on September 21 at Sun Meropa Hotel and Casino in Polokwane. The tournament will feature two World Boxing Association, WBA, Pan African title fights on the evening.

The tournament will start at 7pm.

Fox Sports had staged two events in South Africa at Sun Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom in KwaZulu-Natal and at Sun Carnival City in Boksburg.

Rofhiwa “War Child” Maemu will defend his WBA Pan African featherweight belt against Tello Lithebe of the Free State over 12 rounds while the WBA Pan African super-middleweight champion, Patrick Mukala, puts his title on the line when he takes on Emmanuel Anim of Ghana over the same distance.

Mukala, who is based in Johannesburg, fights out of the Ashley Fourie camp. He flies the Democratic Republic of Congo flag in all his bouts.

The tournament will also feature the exciting Bagwasi brothers, Steven, a lightweight who is unbeaten in three professional fights, and Kagiso, who made a winning debut earlier this year. The brothers hail from Gaborone, Botswana.

Steven Bagwasi will fight Raymond Kupula of the Democratic Republic of Congo over six rounds while Kagiso Bagwasi takes on South Africa’s Tankiso Qelo over four rounds in the welterweight division. Qelo is making his professional debut.
