Gillview community Garden tribute to Alan Grobler

Alan Grobler will never be forgotten by Gillview residents.

THE community of Gillview commemorated Alan Grobler, who was killed in a heist shootout on July 23, 2015, in The Hill on July 29.

Alan was the owner of TPS Security and was known as a people’s person who was admired by the community for his work ethic.

Whenever residents had problems they knew that they could put their trust in Alan. After his death, the community of Gillview was left devastated.

Marlene Ferreira, a resident of Gillview, was one of the organisers of the commemorating team.

“We wanted to make Rifle Range Road corner decent and we decided to beautify it with some plants but one lady said why don’t we tribute this place to Alan. Everyone agreed and City Parks gave us large rocks. A plaque in memory of Alan was also placed in the garden. What residents did is a gesture to the family and friends of Alan that his death was not in vain and that he will always be remembered,” said Marlene.

LOVED: Jessica Englund, Natasha Grobler and Stanley Englund (Natasha’s father) pleased with the commemoration of Alan Grobler.

Alan’s wife, Natasha, told the COURIER, “This makes us feel loved in the community. This shows that my late husband meant something in people’s lives and I am truly honoured by this. Even the business is running well and our customers are still supporting us. I have no words.”

LEADER: A hero to the South, Alan Grobler. is being honoured three years after he has been laid to rest.
