House robbery results in horrific rape and murder in Turffontein

A manhunt has been launched for the two suspects.

MURDER, rape, armed robbery and attempted murder cases have been opened at Booysens Police Station after a family in Turffontein was attacked by two suspects on July 29 at about 1am.

Booysens Police spokesperson Captain Lorraine van Emmerik said it started as a house robbery where two unknown suspects jumped the wall and entered the house through a small window.

“When they got into the house the two youngsters that were in the house tried to protect their mother and their sister. One was stabbed and killed and the other one was stabbed in his leg and rushed to hospital. The 15-year-old sister was raped and was also taken to hospital. The mother is fine. The suspects stole two cellphones,” explained van Emmerik.
