Skhanda is a skeleton dance form that originated in the townships.

Sanele Makhunga (16) and Given Nyeki (17) started their dancing group in 2017. The duo was inspired by a show called Jika Majika from SABC1 which invited professional skhanda dancers to battle it out on the show.

As time went by the duo then decided to team up and battle it out at the school they attend, Forest Hill Secondary School. Most dance battles they compete in are street battles and they are well known in the area because of their dancing moves. When they have to go and battle outside La Rochelle. they team up with another seven boys in the crew for back-up.

Given said: “Me and Sanele are young but we are spirited and well-motivated. We love what we do. If people can assist us with gigs and invite us to events, that could help us to grow then maybe one day we will represent South Africa internationally.”
