MOFFATVIEW – On Friday October 18 Moffatview SAPS, JMPD, Home Affairs and the patrollers held an operation at La Rochelle and arrested 15 Illegal immigrants.
One suspect was arrested for possession of fake counterfeit goods
On Thursday October 17, Constable Shingange from the flying squad was posted at Rosettenville and with his colleague was doing patrols. They spotted a green Korango car, with two occupants, driving past. Constable Shingange decided to chase after the car. They stopped it and started searching and found three Dunhill Courtleigh cartons in the car. While the police were still standing there a black car came and stopped, two occupants informed the police that they bought the cigarettes from the same people the police were chasing, when they opened the cigarettes they noticed that it was wooden powder inside, not cigarettes.
The police officers opened the boxes and noticed that the boxes were full of wooden powder. The police, together with the complainant and the suspect, went to the shop where the cigarettes were bought, on arrival the police officer opened two boxes of Courtleigh cartoons and they also contained wooden powder. He also wanted to bribe the police.
The suspect was arrested for fake counterfeit goods and taken to Moffatview SAPS.
