Pageant give a platform to grow and empower

All proceeds from this event will go to the pageant’s official charity, Women4Women South Africa.

PEGGY Nduku from Ormonde was announced as a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa Top 100 semi-finalist for 2018.

Her journey began on March 2 where she was invited, along with the other beautiful, sophisticated and married women from all over South Africa, for the first ever national casting and empowerment workshop held at Emperors Palace, to help them prepare for the journey ahead.

Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa is a journey that has gained the reputation of being a women empowerment programme and prides itself on producing the very best in real, relatable and modern South African women. The programme celebrates marriage and the essence of being a real woman.

The programme was created for married women who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors for South Africa, on a global scale.

“The excitement realising that I would be among all these women that are strong, powerful and beautiful was unbelievable. “As I engaged with them, I discovered that as women we are strong and have similar challenges.

“I have been facing storms since I lost my job in 2013. As a mother of two and supporting my family back home, I lost my mother shortly after, my husband being retrenched from work and experiencing challenges in my marriage. I have had to learn how to find my way to overcome, accept, loving myself regardless, starting a business and the opportunity of being selected as a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa 2018 semi-finalist has shown that nothing is impossible.

“Previously, when I met my husband 22 years ago while working part-time, modelling and doing promotions, he encouraged me to do more with my life as he believed that women should use their brains too instead of only looks. I would say I listened to him and registered for different courses and obtained my management diploma. I worked as a senior at a leading company, managing teams, processes and planning which I was great at, however, those who know me or worked with me will tell you that my passion for assisting and solving conflict or complicated situations in heels and glamour was my style.

“I had the privilege of meeting Mrs South Africa Nicole Capper, who had a tremendous story of how she gained strength, upon discovering that her child has a rare genetic disease. We all have something within or around us, to do or make a difference.

To vote for her please SMS Peggy Nduku to 35959 (R3/SMS), free SMS’s do not apply.

Only 25 lucky women will be selected to continue the journey as finalists for Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa who will be announced at the Annual Charity Ball on June 29 at Centre Court, Emperors Palace.

All proceeds from this event will go to the pageant’s official charity Women4Women South Africa.
