Drug awareness at South Hills Library

It is observed that our youth start consuming drugs out of stress or unfair expectations from society - Clr Chame.

We recently held an event to educate the youth about drug awareness at South Hills Library.

It is very important to sensitise our youth on the subject of drug abuse. Drugs are destroying the lives of our youth and putting their future in great darkness. The use of drugs is making their lives vulnerable and prone to destruction. Therefore, it becomes very important to raise awareness about it among our youth and prevent them from succumbing to it.

People who are selling drugs create a network and mainly target learners in order to make them addicted to drugs. Initially, the drugs are given to the learners for free and gradually when they get addicted to it, they start buying and consuming it.

IN ATTENDENCE: Community of South Hills attended the drug awareness campaign.

It is observed that our youth start consuming drugs out of stress or unfair expectations from society.

Emotional support and disorder in their families make them vulnerable and increase their dependency on drugs.

Our youth do not have to succumb to drugs, there is hope. At the event at the library, we had representatives from various organisations that offered their support such as Sanca, South Hills Clinic and a new Youth Group that is run by Black Jack, they are all within reach in the South.

The South Hills Library offers youth programmes and holiday programmes.

You can visit the library on a daily basis to read books. In reading books you also educate your brain. There is dedicated staff that will assist and welcome you.

If you know about anyone that needs help with drug addiction, I am also willing to assist.
