A FEMALE pedestrian who is believed to be in her 30s was killed after being knocked down on the M1 near Southgate in Mondeor earlier this morning (October 19).
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 8am the woman was found lying in the middle lane of the highway and upon further assessment, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the woman. She was declared dead at the scene by ER24.
According to ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown but local authorities were at the scene for further investigations.
