Be a person of substance!

When last did someone say ‘thank you’ to you with tears of joy in his or her eyes?

“If you find yourself constantly trying to prove your worth to someone, you have already forgotten your value.” – Anonymous

Sometimes walking away has nothing to do with weakness, and everything to do with strength. You walk away not because you want others to realise your worth and value, but because you have finally realised your own.

I am talking about walking away from a toxic situation, a relationship of any sort that devalues you and makes you feel you are not worthy and deserving of being your own free and happy person. I am talking about walking away from a bad habit that has put your life in a rut. Are you communicating a lot of substance that adds value to people or a lot of nothing (stuff that doesn’t add any value) just to prove your existence to the world? My friend, you have nothing to prove to anyone – you are a gem already. God has been so good to you; just realize that.

When last did someone say ‘thank you’ to you with tears of joy in their eyes? Are you a ‘door opener’ or a ‘door closer’ of opportunities and happiness for others? When last were you a blessing to someone? Do you always expect others to open doors of opportunity for you and to bless you without you doing something for others? Wake up, life is not just about you. Learn to be part of something bigger than yourself. You’ll be hurt along the way as some people will take advantage of you, but be a person of substance; it will give you peace of mind. Never be ashamed of a scar in your life – it simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. Don’t let your mood dictate your manners.
