Cancer awareness held in Chrisville

The pain of having a family member who was diagnosed with cancer is undoubtedly traumatic - Clr Landis.

THE community of Chrisville together with ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis hosted a cancer awareness event to commemorate October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The informative event took place on Saturday, October 1, with approximately 300 people present to learn and share valuable information with each.

“This is a very emotional day for all of us. The pain of having a family member who was diagnosed with cancer is undoubtedly traumatic. This is a journey that we can walk with our loved ones. Remission is possible with the correct treatment, diet and family support,” said Clr Landis.

Clr Landis also used this opportunity to encourage families in the South to come together and say no to drugs so they can beat the demand for drugs and save their youth. Members of the Recreation Centre in Robertsham were also present to educate the youngsters about the dangers of taking and using drugs.
